Sue was born in Michigan and moved to Yuma, AZ with her family when she was in middle school. She began working full-time in retail during High School and continued her work rather than attending college after graduation. She was married, then divorced with a child. She was promoted to management in a store and moved to Indio, CA.

She attended Arizona Western College, Yuma, AZ and College of the Desert, Palm Desert, CA in addition to applicable vocational training. Her experience includes retail and nonprofit management in Human Resources, Business and Facility management.

In Indio, as a single mother, she found and married Wayne Meyers. Wayne and Sue adopted 2 more children and attended Family Life Church (FLC) in Rancho Mirage and accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Savior growing spiritually with teaching at FLC and bible studies. Her younger son was a student who needed educational therapy which was provided by Cynthia Moses.

Sue was active at Family Life Church (FLC) with Awana, children’s ministry, in Precept Bible studies and as Church Secretary. Sue left the workforce and homeschooled her 2 youngest and led the local Desert Christian Homeschool Educators Association for 2 years. Her family then attended Southwest Community Church in Rancho Mirage, CA where she served in the coffee shop, as usher, and a leader in Celebrate Recovery.

Sue worked at Coachella Valley Rescue Mission (CVRM) for 14.5 years as their Associate Director. Her responsibilities were Human Resources, Business and Facility Management. She worked with the Executive Director in the beginning on writing employee and Board policy and prepared and presented Financials at the monthly Board meetings. Sue assisted the Executive Director with fundraising and federal funding during the six-year campaign and seven-year compliance reporting with the new CVRM 43,000sf building.

Wayne and Sue adopted 2 of their grandchildren placed in their home in 2015. Then in 2020, Sue retired from CVRM. They relocated to Farmington, Missouri in July 2020 and currently attend and serve at Parkland Chapel. Sue is the Ministry Co-Leader for a thriving Celebrate Recovery (CR) at Parkland Chapel. Sue joined the Board of Integrated Learning Institute in 2023 and is an active member of the board providing oversight accounting, coordinating communications and board training. She is busy with her family including husband and grandchildren who are attending the local high school, CR ministry and ILI.

Sue says, "Serving on ILI’s board has been the most fulfilling and growing experience in my life. It is exciting to hear about students who 'get it' with NILD educational therapy. My prayer is that funding is available to provide this one-on-one therapy to anyone no matter what their financial ability. It really can change their life to become successful in learning for a lifetime."
