Dear friends of Integrated Learning Institute,

Have you ever tried to describe your life’s work in three minutes? Three minutes exactly?!!!

After weeks of nonprofit training conducted by NPO Centric and RAP Foundation, Cynthia Moses, M.Ed., P.C.E.T. founder and Executive Director of Integrated Learning Institute competed in the Desert Fast Pitch Semifinals! This was an exciting evening for all ten contestants to pitch their work and commitment to the Coachella Valley community. Although Cynthia was not chosen to proceed to the final competition, she was awarded $1,000 for her nonprofit and will be introduced at the final competition October 2.

Another requirement of the competition was to submit a portfolio including plans for fundraising, marketing, and development, as well as a personal statement and elevator pitches. In the photo below, Cynthia is giving Greg Charleston her final portfolio before the competition began.

Much work remains in grant writing and donor support to provide training and scholarships for more struggling students. But this was certainly a worthy and fun way to strengthen ILI and introduce ourselves to the community!

Thank you so much for being a part of this journey,

Emily Nelson, Board of Directors member
